Nipsey Hussle might have died a couple of years back, but his legacy lives on through his music, and this much is evident even to this day.

According to Billboard, the late rapper's one and only album was awarded a double-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on its fifth album anniversary.

Released in 2018, "Victory Lap" boasts a star-studded tracklist, and is considered one of Hussle's last gifts to his fans before his sudden death in 2019.

The album opens with "Victory Lap" featuring Stacy Bartha; followed by "Rap N***as"; "Last Time That I Checc'd" featuring YG; "Young N***a" with Puff Daddy; "Blue Laces 2"; "Hussle & Motivate"; "Status Symbol 3" featuring Buddy; "Succa Proof" featuring Konshens and J. Back; "Keyz 2 the City 2" with TeeFili; "Grinding All My Life".

"Million While You Young" featuring The-Dream; "Loaded Bases" with CeeLo Green; "Real Big" with Marsha Ambrosius; "Double Up" with Belly and Dom Kennedy; and "Right Hand 2 God."

Before Hussle released this album, he had 13 years of coming in and out of recording studios.

Despite it taking so long to receive the new RIAA certification, "Victory Lap" has always been a fan favorite and even more so after the rapper died.

Legacy

Hussle was shot dead outside his own shop; he was 33 years old. Dig reported that countless public figures and fellow musicians came to honor him upon his death.

According to reports, Hussle's life will be further honored with a documentary which will be produced by NBA superstar, LeBron James.

In November 2022, James revealed that he and Maverick Carter's SpringHill Company and Hussle's Marathon Films will work on the documentary together.

"It's an incredible honor for SpringHill to be able to share Nipsey's story and legacy with the world," the basketball player said. "He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower and uplift others along the way."

It will also include some clips of the rapper that has not been released to the public as well as some interviews with some of hip-hop's top rappers, Snoop Dogg, Puff Daddy, and more.

"His words, his ambition and his actions stay with me to this day as he continues to inspire me, our company and people around the world," James concluded.

Hussle, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, hailed from Los Angeles, California. He was given two posthumous Grammy Awards for "Racks in the Middle" and "Higher" for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap/Sung Performance.
