The past couple of months has been rough for One Direction fans. They have been divided after Liam Payne commented about ex-member Zayn Malik as well as the origin of the group.

Fans have been debating and fighting whether Payne's statements about the group being built around him were true or even fair.

None of the One Direction members have issued statements regarding Payne's claims, but there was definitely a weird undercurrent happening within the fandom.

However, now that Payne has issued a public apology-albeit addressed to only one member, Louis Tomlinson-some are wondering if he has reached out to the other members and apologized as well.

"I'm so sorry I was so out of my mind and I didn't do better for you," Payne wrote on his Instagram post.

"I feel ashamed in those moments to not be as good of a friend as you have been to me. At least I have time now and I'm me again so will try and make amends."

Olive Branch

Aside from extending an olive branch to Tomlinson, the "Strip That Down" singer had nothing but nice things to say about his fellow One Direction alum.

He was invited to watch the premiere of "All Those Voices," Tomlinson's documentary, which dove into the singer's private life and how it affected his current career as a solo artist.

"Seeing the world through your eyes last night was the most beautiful thing to experience," Payne wrote.

"My neck hurts from how much I'm looking up to you right now you were already my friend and brother but getting to look through that window into your world and mind I just extends that respect I have for you. What you've dealt with and how you held it all inside!"

It seems like all is well between Payne and Tomlinson as the pair were spotted laughing, talking, and walking alongside each other during the premiere.

Wrong Post?

Meanwhile, the other One Direction members Harry Styles and Niall Horan are doing their own thing.

Style is currently on the road with his ongoing tour, "Love on Tour" while Horan is promoting his recently released single "Heaven."

According to reports, the "As It Was" singer surprised and shocked fans when he posted a picture of himself sporting a One Direction shirt on his Instagram Stories.

He quickly took the picture down, but fans were already convinced that a One Direction reunion might be coming sometime soon.

As of this writing, there is no word on whether One Direction will return for a reunion or if they even plan to have a reunion in the foreseeable future.
