Halsey may be working in the music industry over a decade now, but it appears that the singer is slowly venturing out into the world of film as she's set to star in another movie this year; what would be her role?

According to Uproxx, the "Colors" hitmaker, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, and Moses Sumney were two of the musicians cast for of the upcoming movie "Maxxxine" which will feature Mia Goth as the lead character. The movie is said to be the continuation of "X" and "Pearl."

The new film will reportedly explore the lead character Maxine's journey in Los Angeles, California, in the 1980s as she wanted to be an actress in Hollywood. (via Deadline)

As of this writing, Halsey and Sumney's role remains a mystery, but the outlet reported that filming will begin this year.

'MaXXXine' is Not Halsey's First Acting Gig

In early reports, Halsey's acting debut was for the HBO TV series "The Player's Table" along with "Euphoria" actress Sydney Sweeney.

The show is based on the novel "They Wish They Were Us" by Jessica Goodman. Aside from being an actress, Halsey is also a producer on the series.

The story revolves around a prep school in Long Island which shows Jill Newman, portrayed by Sweeney, working to know the truth about her best friend's death.

On the other hand, Halsey will play the role of Rachel Calloway, an emotionally troubled person who made Newman to investigate on the death of her good pal.

Halsey's Acting Debut Series Not Released Yet

The series has been in the works for over three years now, but the show has not been released to the public yet.

The last update was in 2022 when Sweeney revealed that she and her team are writing scripts for the show.

"We are in the process of writing the episodes, so it's quite a long process. Everything that you see, before anyone ever gets cast in a project, is years and years of work. It's years of packaging a project," she said. (via Showbiz Cheatsheet)

She added that the show is worth "years of developing a pitch" and years of convincing people to believe in her for them to invest or put their money on the show.

In other updates, Halsey's last album titled "If I Can't Have Love, I Have Power" was released in 2021. Although she hasn't dropped any new record, she released "Die 4 Me," the solo version of her collaboration with Post Malone and Future.
