Lady Gaga rose to fame in the early 2010s with the release of her debut single "Just Dance," and just a few months before its 15th anniversary, she earned a remarkable milestone.

According to reports, the Recording Industry Association of America, or RIAA, bestowed the singer with its most prestigious award-a certified diamond.

To receive a certified diamond from the RIAA, a song must have sold a million units or more. In Lady Gaga's case, "Just Dance" sold 10,000,000 units.

However, this is not the first time Mother Monster received a certified diamond. In fact, this is her third.

Before "Just Dance," the singer received certified diamonds for "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face."

This makes Lady Gaga the third female artist to achieve this milestone, alongside Cardi B and Katy Perry.

Milestone

According to Insider, Cardi B became the first female rapper to receive a diamond certification for her breakout debut single "Bodak Yellow."

She received the honor back in 2021, and later that year she received diamond certifications for two other songs, "Girls Like You" and "I Like It."

Cardi B was credited as a featured artist on "Girls Like You," which was a song recorded and released by the Maroon 5 back in 2017.

"I Like It" was a 2018 song from her debut album "Invasion of Privacy," and she collaborated with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.

It won several awards including a Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Song, and an MTV Video Music Award for Song of the Summer.

On the other hand, Perry earned her first diamond certification back in 2017 for her song "Roar."

The song was released in 2013, and was included in the singer's fourth studio album, "Prism."

Five years later, Perry received two more diamond certifications for the following songs, "Firework" and "Dark Horse."

"Firework" was unveiled by the singer in 2010, and is a part of her "Teenage Dream" album. It won an MTV Music Award for Video of the Year.

Perry's "Dark Horse" is a fan favorite. It was included in her "Prism" album as well and it features Juicy J. It did not win any awards but was nominated for several.

Banger After Banger

Lady Gaga and the RIAA have a long history together. Aside from several of her songs being certified multi-platinums, the singer was also the first female artist to receive a Digital Diamond Award from the RIAA.

These days, Lady Gaga isn't much into music anymore. She has been focusing more on her acting career.

After starring in "A Star Is Born," she has set her sights on taking more acting roles. She is currently filming "Joker: Folie à Deux."
