After six seasons of judging "American Idol" popstar Katy Perry has received her first hostility from the crowd due to a comment she gave to one of the fan favorites in the competition.

However, Perry has been the subject of online attacks and criticism for as long as she had been the judge of the popular reality singing competition, but this would be the first time she gets booed live.

Katy Perry Booed on 'American Idol'

Katy Perry has been the judge of "American Idol" since Season 16, and although the judges were celebrities and musicians, they tend to be on the receiving end of hostilities when they say something that would be deemed unpopular or uncalled for.

Katy Perry was booed when she gave her critique on 25-year-old Georgia native Nutsa. Despite her high-energy performance of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals hit song "Paris (Ohh La La)."

"Nutsa, every time you take the stage, it's like you glitter bomb the stage," Perry said. "Listen, I think one thing I personally would like to see from you is not one piece of glitter the next time. I know that's gonna be hard."

Immediately after her suggestion, the crowd was in unison when they gave Perry an audible boo. Bryan and Richie bolted at the sound of the collective disagreement from the crowd, which prompted the former to exclaim in achievement.

"Katy got booed!" Bryan said in jest, seemingly celebrating the negative feedback his co-judge received, which many presumed she is long overdue for. Bryan was booed back in 2018 over his divisive comments.

But despite this, Perry seemed to be unfazed: "Okay, first time in six seasons, woo-hoo!" the judge celebrated in sarcasm.

After the bit, Perry continued on her comments, saying that she wanted Nutsa to "flip the script" and give a more meaningful performance and a rather connected and emotional one.

Katy Perry Mom-shaming Comments Prompted Contestant To Quit

In the past, Perry's comments have been in the microscope. Earlier this season, she has been the subject of online flak after giving contestant Sara Beth Liebe mom-shaming comments.

Liebe, a 25-year-old mom of five, auditioned for the judges, but when she revealed her age and her current job, Perry gave her a snarky comment, saying she have been "laying on the table too much," alluding to the fact that she has put her dream many times away for her family.

The contestant has addressed the comment on TikTok and has since left the show on Hollywood week.
