The State of California has issued a creditor's claim against the estate of Aaron Carter for $17,092.31.

The singer-songwriter and former teen heartthrob in back taxes owed from 2020, according to Radar Online.

Aaron had been notified by the institution of his debt of $2,887 on a credit card bill. However, later on, they retracted their demand for payment.

On November 5, 2022, the former child star was sadly discovered deceased in his bathtub at the age of 34.

Roughly one week after his death, his body was cremated, and a few days later, his sister Angel filed legal documents to be appointed administrator of her brother's estate.

It was estimated to be worth approximately $500k, most of which was derived from his 7-bedroom, 4-bathroom house in Lancaster.

An investigation by Los Angeles County medical examiner's office determined that Aaron had passed away due to accidental drowning in his bathtub while under the influence of inhalants that were found around him.

Amidst the legal drama surrounding the late star, his fiancée Melanie Martin proposed that a third party become administrator of the estate. Angel accepted and withdrew her earlier request.

As a result, an independent official was appointed to take control of the trust established for their 1-year-old son, who is now the sole beneficiary.

The cause of death for the "I Want Candy" singer has been shrouded in mystery. Jane, the singer's mom, wants to get to the bottom of it all and has proposed a new investigation into Aaron's passing.

She shared pictures of the death scene of her son and explained, "I want to share these death scene photos with you all because the coroner wrote it off as accidental drug overdose. They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past."

Aaron Carter's Mom's Criminal Charges

In a surprising turn of events, Jane Schneck - the mother of Aaron Carter - will not be criminally charged for an alleged physical altercation with her husband related to the volume of their television.

Radar obtained court documents indicating prosecutors declined to pursue charges due to specific "victim/witness issues."

The record of the case involving Jane indicates that it was disposed of on May 22 and had been "dropped/abandoned" by the state's prosecutors, per TMZ.

This follows Jane's arrest last month due to an altercation with her partner, which led to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office getting involved.
