Celine Dion's health condition reportedly got worse that, which led to speculations she might not be able to return to the stage anymore.

Amid her stiff-person syndrome battle, Dion decided to cancel her remaining tours to focus on her health. She, however, pledged to her fans that she would tour again once she is able to do so.

Celine Dion in "Worse Shape"?

Radar Online shared sources' statements regarding Dion's health status since taking a break from the music industry. According to the insiders, the 55-year-old singer's health problems worsened and she might never return to the stage because of her condition.

One source claimed Dion can barely move months after she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome despite the singer's previous assurance that she is working hard to regain her strength.

"Celine is in an enormous amount of pain," the insider said. "She has the best medical team money can buy, but things aren't looking good. Her disease is incurable. And as hard she's worked at it with doctors and therapists, she simply isn't getting better."

The reported update came after a source told People that the "To Love You More" hitmaker decided to cancel her tours to be fair to her fans and supporters.

At that time, the source disclosed that Dion's goal is to tour again once she is better. But for now, the singer decided to postpone the schedule all at once as she could not keep canceling her shows.

Dion's health struggles were first revealed in October 2021 when she halted her Las Vegas residency. She revealed that she had been suffering from "severe and persistent" muscle spasms, which turned out to be symptoms of stiff-person syndrome.

Athlete Who Has Similar Illness Speaks Up

While the report regarding Celine Dion's immobility should be taken with a grain of salt, a marathon runner previously shared his story and said that the same disease now left him struggling to do what he used to do.

New York Post posted the story of a five-time marathon runner named Jon Kelf, a 54-year-old diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome. He revealed that he could barely move when he was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition and that he had completed five marathons until he suddenly felt his legs give out on him.

Per Kelf, he learned about the condition while recuperating from a procedure to remove a tumor from his chest.

After seeing Dion's announcement in December, Kelf expressed his gratitude as it would help them bring awareness to the rare syndrome.
