When Britney Spears was placed under the infamous and oppressive years-long conservatorship, one of the privileges that was ripped away from her was to see her children.
The "Oops I Did It Again" singer's ex-husband Kevin Federline gained sole custody of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James back in 2008.
While she seldom talks about them on social media now these days, it is clear that Spears loves her children and misses them very much.
In one of her many posts about her sons, she said, "From when they were six to nine years old, I had them 70% of the time, and of course, since they've been gone I've honestly felt like a huge part of me has died.
Like, literally, have no purpose anymore. They were my joy. They were my everything. I looked forward to seeing them. That was what I lived for and then all of sudden they were gone and I was like, 'Did my heart just stop beating?'"
Britney Spears, Sons' Relationship 'Deteriorating'
It seems like the rift between Spears and her kids has only grown in size since 2008 because the mother and sons did not reunite and say their goodbyes for one last time before the boys moved to Hawaii with Federline and his new wife.
According to reports, a source revealed that Federline tried to convince the boys to say goodbye to Spears before they left, but they did not want to.
When the news of Federline, his wife, and the kids moving to Hawaii first broke, fans were concerned that Spears might have another breakdown, however, this was not the case.
There have been multiple instances wherein the "Toxic" singer's sons seemingly harbored resentment towards their mother.
Last year in August, according to the Daily Mail UK, Federline claimed that Sean and Jayden were avoiding their mother because of all the half-naked pictures and videos she had been uploading on her Instagram.
Britney Spears' Sons Are Ungrateful?
When fans found out that Spears' sons did not even bother to say goodbye to the singer before they left for Hawaii, they were both furious and satisfied.
"[...] I've never seen them crusty kids talk good [about] her," a fan wrote about the news.
"They don't deserve her," another added.
"I feel bad for Britney but she's better off without them and I pray she's able to have more kids with her new man if she wants them."
"That's funny because once the payments stop, guess who'll be trying to worm their way back into her life," another scoffed.
