When Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans divorced last year, it was a tough time for the country music star, and music was one of the ways that she coped with the heartbreak.

It seems like the singer has still a lot to say even a year later because she is releasing "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good," an extended version of her EP which was initially released back in February.

Despite the songs reminiscing about her divorce and heartbreak, Ballerini is dead set on moving on-and she has, she is now dating Chase Stokes-and she is determined that her fans do the same.

"From the deepest and purest part of my heart, I ask that you help this be ours and let the music simply be the music," the country music singer wrote of the upcoming release, "not dig back into the experience that it was written about nearly a year ago.

"My real hope is for us to continue growing, healing, and evolving together with acceptance and kindness (even when we unleash our inner fire-breathing dragon singing the new versions of these songs). am I right?"

Kelsea Ballerini Drops New Songs

According to reports, Ballerini's "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good)" will feature an extended version of one of the tracks, "Interlude," as well as a brand new song called "How Do I Do This."

With her music career picking up, Ballerini wants to move away from the image of a divorcee, but instead, a woman in music.

"It's taken me a decade to defeat the imposter syndrome that makes me feel like people don't know my music," the singer explained.

"However, in the past 12 months, because people began to care about what I was doing outside of music, this super-terrifying thing has happened where people care about my art and my life equally.

"As much as I created it, this music loudly belongs to my fans -- having this type of interplay with my fans has changed the expectations of my career."

Kelsea Ballerini, Morgan Evans' Divorce

According to reports, Ballerini and Evans' divorce was described as "nasty" by fans and the press-especially after the former dropped her EP.

Ballerini's songs left almost nothing to the imagination as she sang about heartbreak and an empty home.

It's really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren't reality and that leave out what really happened," Evans wrote in a statement.

"If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps. All I ask is that if you're on my pages, please don't be mean. Don't be mean to Kelsea, don't be mean to each other. Life's too short."
