The journalist later informed Russell that he had heard from his source that the "Teenage Dream" hitmaker had chosen to dub her ex-husband "Rasputin." This name held immense significance as it translates from Russian to "debauched one," an apt description of its namesake, a historical figure renowned for his ability to lure women.
In the early 1900s, Rasputin held a prominent position in the Russian court and was well-known for his romantic abilities, earning him the moniker of "Russia's greatest love machine."
When Piers informed Russell of his nickname, the celebrity was overjoyed.
