Tina Turner's passing was one of the most shocking things to happen in the music industry this year. She died on May 24, 2023, after suffering from multiple illnesses including kidney failure and high blood pressure, among many others.

Aside from being a world-class performer and a trailblazer, Tina Turner was also a good friend to some - especially Cher. The Pop Goddess even visited the Queen of Rock and Roll in Switzerland before she passed away.

Tina Turner, Cher Final Conversation Before Death

According to an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Cher revealed that she visited Tina Turner in Zurich, Switzerland, before her actual passing in May 2023.

The exact or estimated date when Cher visited Tina Turner was not specified, but she hinted that the singer was already "lying on the chaise" on her "recent" visit.

Confessing that she's "tired" already, Cher revealed later on that after that, they were running around the house and Turner was already "laughing hysterically."

"She just needed to talk and yell. That's the Tina that I loved. We had the best time and talked about the old times," she fondly recalled.

Cher also told the magazine that Turner gave her a parting gift - a pair of high heels.

When asked if she would ever use them, the "Believe" singer had this to say: "I'm not going to wear them. I just have them up in my closet."

Cher Tribute to Tina Turner

Shortly after Turner's death in May 2023, Cher spoke to MSNBC recalling the same visit she made to Zurich, Switzerland, noting that she was "really happy" despite being "really sick."

"I started going to visit her because I thought, 'I need to put this time into our friendship, so she knows we haven't forgotten her," she said. So we all took turns going and spending time with her and it made her happy."

Cher even recalled Turner saying that she could not "spend too much time," but the "Proud Mary" hitmaker was relentless, she still tried to have a good time despite being sick as she doesn't want people to know about it.

In a tribute to Tina Turner, Cher had this to say to her friend: "She was such a force. Honestly, I think she just hit everything head-on. She wasn't about to stop. She might not have won every battle, but she fought every war. She was there fighting for all the things she believed in."
