Megan Thee Stallion announces her first-ever record as an independent artist, following the settlement with her former label, 1501 Entertainment.

However, Megan Thee Stallion's upcoming release has been trolled with comparisons from another reptilian titled rap record made by Nicki Minaj in the past.

Megan Thee Stallion Copying Nicki Minaj?

Last Friday, Megan Thee Stallion uncovered the title of her new single, "Cobra," which will be released on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. It was the latest confirmation that Megan Thee Stallion is embarking on a new era based on her recent Instagram wipe.

Meanwhile, over on Twitter/X, many people thought Meg's latest release was reminiscent of Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda."

Released in 2014, "Anaconda" paved the way for overtly sexualized music videos to be normalized - further cementing Nicki Minaj as one of the greats of her generation.

The song was included in Nicki Minaj's Video Vanguard Performance medley in 2022.

Although it debuted only at No. 19, it slithered its way to the top at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

"Nicki Minaj sang anaconda now we having cobra, Cardi will come tomorrow with serpent," someone joked.

"I mean anaconda vs cobra? It's really giving "mommy look what I can do I"" another mused.

"We already have ANACONDA's story by NICKI MINAJ. No need for cobra," a fan posted.

"Im sorry but how you 'gon copy Nicki Minaj and have the audacity to call it another snake? Cobra ? Anaconda lmao. @NICKIMINAJ u seen this ? " someone asked Megan Thee Stallion.
