Dionne Warwick Bio 

Marie Dionne Warwick (professionally known as Dionne Warwick) was born on December 12, 1940 in East Orange, New Jersey. Warwick was known to had belonged to a music gospel family, as per All Music. Dionne's father worked as a gospel record promoter in Chess records, while her mother was a manager of the Drinkard singers, a gospel music group that comprised of the Warwicks' relatives. 

Dionne first showed her singing talent when she sang at the New Hope Bapstist church in Newark when she was only six years old. It didn't take long for Dionne to soon after belong to a choir. As a teen, Warwick became a founder of a vocal group called the Gospelaires. The other members of the Gospelaires were Dionne's sister, Dee Dee and the singer's aunt, Cissy Houston.

Dionne Warwick Music Career History and Beginnings 

The Gospelaires participated in a Drifters recording session as the group got to work to record the song, "Mexican Divorce." The composer of "Mexican Divorce" was Burt Bacharach. Bacharach suggested that Warwick may want to do some demos for him. Warwick did just that, doing demos for songs Bacharach had written for lyricist Hal David. Bacharach and David, in turn, pitched a song of Warwick's to Florence Greenberg. Greenberg was the head of the Scepter records. The head of the small independent record label liked the Warwick's talent, so much so, that he signed her to become one of the recording artists of his label. 

Dionne Warwick Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades 

Bacharach and David wrote and produced Dionne's debut single, "Don't Make Me Over", released in 1962. When the single was released, the written artist credit accrued a typo that read "Dionne Warwick" instead of the artist's correct name of "Dionne Warrick." Dionne ended up retaining her former name. 

"Don't Make Me Over" climbed on the Top 20 of the pop chart in the initial parts of 1963. The debut single simultaneously topped the Top 5 of the R & B chart. In the early part of 1964, the iconic musician topped the pop and R & B Top ten and Top 5 of the easy listening chart with her hit, "Anyone Who Had a Heart". 

The majority parts of Dionne's catalog were reissued, which was collectively inclusive of "The Complete Scepter Singles" (1962-1973), "Sure Thing: The Warner Brothers Recordings" (1972-1977), "Deja Vu: The Arista Recordings" (1979-1994). These catalog anthologies were distributed in the market in reversed order in 2020-2023. 

Dionne Warwick Belfast and Dublin Tours May 2024 

Dionne Warwick has recently made the announcements that she would be doing two shows in Dublin and Belfast in May 2024. The famed R & B singer is going to take her "Don't Make Me Over" tours in Vicar Street in May 22nd and in Ulster Hall in May 26th, as per Hotpress.com.
