The legendary Canadian singer Celine Dion's older sister, Claudette, claims that her sister no longer has "control over her muscles."

Following her struggle with stiff person syndrome, a neurological illness, Celine, 55, may not return to the stage for some time, according to her sibling, 74, who made this suggestion a year after the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker was forced to postpone her global tour in December.

The body attacks its own nerve cells as a result of Celine's degenerative and incurable disease, which significantly impairs mobility. She's exerting a lot of effort, yet her muscles are out of control. Claudette told 7 Jours that the star has always been disciplined, and that breaks her heart.

Her work has always been intense, the sister added. And her desire to return to the stage is not helping.

In three and a half years, Celine Dion makes her first public appearance. Although there is still much to learn about the illness, progress has been sluggish due to its rarity.

"The vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is a muscle," Claudette further explained.

The sister lamented that scientists haven't done much research because it's a one in a million case and doesn't effect a large number of people.

Fortunately, supportive messages for the celebrity have deluged Fondation Maman Dion, Celine's family charity. People express their love and prayers for the singer through her family. She receives several cards, gifts, and blessed crucifixes. In the past, Claudette has disclosed that her sister's health has not improved much even though she works with "the top researchers in the field.

"We can't find any medicine that works, but having hope is important," she stated to Le Journal de Montréal. Claudette stated in October that Celine still intended to resume performing and was not yet dependent on a wheelchair for mobility.

Though considered to affect only one in a million people, the illness can also cause spasms strong enough to break bones. Patients are often diagnosed between the ages of 30 and 50, and most of them are female.

The celebrity canceled her world tour, which was set to start at the end of 2023, months after first disclosing her sickness in a heartfelt Instagram post in December 2022.

A video titled "Celine Dion's Family Reveals How She Is Dying" went viral on YouTube in September.

The unidentified narrator of the film claims that Dion's incurable sickness is 'progressing extremely swiftly'.

Since then, the video has been reposted on TikTok, where it has amassed over 430,000 views.

Social media users began to speculate after seeing the video that the Grammy Award-winning musician is now confined to a wheelchair and has mobility issues.
