The Academy Awards just revealed the shortlist for the highly anticipated Best Original Song and Best Original Score for next year's Oscars Awards, and among the list is Olivia Rodrigo.

The 20-year-old dropped the viral hit song "Can't Catch Me Now," a song featured on the newest installment of the "The Hunger Games" film franchise, "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes."

According to reports, Rodrigo's song was included in the Best Original Song shortlist, alongside Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For" and Dua Lipa's "Dance the Night," both from the "Barbie" movie.

This is the first time Rodrigo's music was considered for an Oscar Award nomination.

Olivia Rodrigo's Song 'Can't Catch Me Now'

Rodrigo surprised fans when it was announced that her song would be included in "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," the prequel of "The Hunger Games" trilogy.

"From the very beginning of this franchise, we have been fortunate to attract some of the world's most talented recording artists, whose music has accentuated and complemented the drama of the films while underscoring the emotional weight carried by the characters," said Francis Lawrence, the director of the film franchise.

"With her highly charged lyrics and urgent voice, Olivia Rodrigo taps into all of that as much as any artist today.

"She's an absolute thrill to work with and we couldn't be more excited that her music is a part of the movie."

"Can't Catch Me Now" is the first song the singer has recorded for a film, and given its success, it seems like there will most likely be a follow-up very soon.
