Troye Sivan made some waves with his "One of Your Girls" music video in October 2023, especially since he starred alongside Ross Lynch.

According to reports, though, Lynch was not the Australian singer's first choice; the other stars considered for the role were Jacob Elordi and Vinnie Hacker.

During the Disney Channel star's appearance on the "The Zach Sang Show," the host, Sang claimed that he heard from the "Bloom" singer that someone else was supposed to star alongside Sivan.

"That's what I heard, too," Lynch admitted. "It was supposed to be... are we allowed to say it?"

Lynch and his brother Rocky revealed that "Saltburn" Jacob Elordi was the first choice for the role, whereas Sang and his co-host Dan Zolot said it was TikTok star Vinnie Hacker.

Jacob Elordi, Vinnie Hacker Supposed to Star Alongside Troye Sivan?

There are no reports that note why neither Elordi nor Hacker ended up in the music video, or why Lynch was eventually chosen to play the part, however, netizens are glad he was.

"Ross was destined to be in that video," one wrote.

"Ross had to be in it. It would not have been so big I think with anyone else. Ross Lynch brought me back to my little girl crushes."

Meanwhile, others could not help but point out that all the men considered for the role have similarities.

"All the same genre of men," one wrote.

Some even suggested that the "1999" singer recreate the video with Lynch, Elordi, and Hacker altogether; "Alternate video where they're all in it when?"

Troye Sivan Shocks, Delights in 'One of Your Girls' MV

When Sivan first dropped the music video for "One of Your Girls," a single off his "Something to Give Each Other" album, it was met with criticism and compliments.

The singer's fans could not help but marvel at his look, dancing, and of course, Lynch.

However, others felt scandalized to see Sivan wearing makeup, a wig, and a leotard with heels.

Apparently, though, it was the entire point of both the song and the music video.

He explained that he had to uncover his internalized homophobia which led him to write the song and reflect on the men he dated; "the sort of fantasy of it all, the attraction of it all, me bending myself to be what I think you might want," he noted.

As for Lynch, he was pleased and honored to be part of the music video: "I don't necessarily feel that way," he said about being objectified in the music video. "I think it's maybe because of our longstanding history and success in music."
