• Pharrell Premieres Unreleased N.E.R.D. Song 'Locked Away' On Beats 1: New Music in Works?

    Pharrell has been one of the most ardent early adopters of Apple Music and over the weekend he used his OTHERtone radio show on Beats 1 as a platform to premiere some unreleased N.E.R.D. music. Pharrell rinsed out the track "Locked Away," which has been floating around on the internet since 2002, but the new premiere could indicate that new music from the group is on the horizon.

    If she wanted to, Britney Spears could continue her Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood for a long time, but the "Pretty Girls" singer isn't sure whether or not she even wants to. Last night (Aug. 16), the 33-year-old pop star appeared at the Teen Choice Awards 2015 and admitted that she may not perform in Sin City past 2015.

  • Nada Surf to Release 'Live at the Neptune Theater,' Share "Clear Eye Clouded Mind"

    Alt rockers Nada Surf announced plans to release Live at the Neptune Theater earlier this past week. Recorded during a performance in 2012, the tracks on the forthcoming LP were originally played in Seattle's iconic theater during one of the band's many North American tours. A response to fans' request for a new album, Nada Surf's live album is set to drop in 2016 as a three-LP vinyl set featuring 21 tracks in addition to a photo booklet, poster, shirt iron-on, and a temporary tattoo.

    Electro indie outfit CHVRCHES released 'Never Ending Circles,' a track from their forthcoming LP album "Every Open Eye," earlier this week. Slotted to drop September 25h via Glassnote, the release of the Glasgow trio's follow up to the heavily applauded "The Bones of What You Believe" will coincide with a fall tour.

    Canadian four-piece rock band, Metric, has unveiled the music video for their new single, "The Shade." The track is taken from the group's upcoming album, 'Pagans In Vegas.' The video pieces together some quick stutter editing of stunning scenes in nature around the world with clips of the band in various environments.

  • Robert Sillerman's SFX Entertainment Privatization Plan Fails

    In the past few weeks, things have started to look bleak for Robert F.X. Sillerman in his big to try and take dance music conglomerate SFX Entertainment private. He had been struggling to find the financing from investors to begin an aggressive share buyback plan at the agreed price in May of $5.25 per share. Now that the company's share are valued at $1.39, that initial offer has become untenable and SFX is now exploring other options.

    Today is Young Thug's birthday and in honor of the occasion, he's dropping a new track and accompanying music video to "Again" this evening at 5:55 PM (EDT). The new track will feature Gucci Mane. Who knows, maybe Gucci was granted temporary release for a spot in the video. "Again" is produced by London on da Track and will appear on he and Thug's upcoming collaborative mixtape, 'Slime Season.'
