• Birdman Sues TIDAL for $50 Million Over Lil Wayne's 'Free Weezy Album'

    Though Birdman was just named in an indictment that alleges he was involved in a plot to kill Lil Wayne, he's showing no attempt to make amends with his former "son," who's still fighting to free himself from Cash Money Records. If that lawsuit wasn't enough, Birdman has brought forth another. He is suing Jay Z's TIDAL for recently releasing Lil Wayne's 'Free Weezy Album' -- to the tune of $50 million.

    A humorous petition has suggested that Outkast's Andre 3000 and Big Boi be carved into Georgia's historic Stone Mountain, a monument near Atlanta that's drawn controversy for its homage to the Confederacy in the form of Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson in Mt. Rushmore-style. Our official stance at Music Times is that the ATLiens riding in a Cadillac on the side of the mountain wouldn't hurt. And, even if it does border on the absurd, it wouldn't be the worst statue of a musician to be erected. Alas, The Beatles, Kurt Cobain and Michael Jackson (especially Michael Jackson) have been subjected to attempted memorials that fall way short of tastefulness.

Yesterday, the Atlanta rapper was charged with making "terroristic threats," and soon after, on an unrelated note, he was named in an indictment for plotting to kill Lil Wayne. Now, the Barter 6 rapper has racked up some new charges, as police found drugs and weapons when they raided his house for the aforementioned terrorism allegations.

    The album's first single of the same name will be released on July 17, the very day the album becomes available for pre-oder via David Gilmour's official site. The 10-track LP incorporates countless lyric contributions from Gilmour's wife and novelist Polly Samson, also including assistance from Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera who had a hand in co-producing 'Rattle That Lock.'
