Axl Rose has been linked to Guns N' Roses since the beginning of time. The erratic frontman, however, was in a few other bands prior to making it big in the late 1980s. He was in the first lineup of L.A. Guns before forming his own band, Hollywood Rose with GN'R guitarist Izzy Stradlin. Their five-song demo was released in 2004 from the archives, and now fans are able to download an EP from Rose's first project, Rapidfire.According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Rapifire's demos have been available online for a few years, but the official release only came after Rose's legal blessing. Loudwire even reported earlier this year that a YouTube clip of Rapidfire was taken down at the request of Rose's lawyers even though it belonged to guitarist Kevin Lawrence."Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead man," Lawrence wrote prior to the release. "Oh, and I can't wait for the 500-page illegal harassment of a cease and desist. Snore .. zzz ... zzz. Heard of interference of business and SLAPP suits? I own the copyrights, the masters, the photos, the performances and I have the receipt that I paid for it all ... LOL ... open and shut."The EP, "Ready to Rumble," is available for purchase. Fans can learn more about the band on its Facebook page and even listen to a snippet of the music below. -
Diplo and Ex-Girlfriend Kathryn Lockhart Welcome Second Son, Twitter Feud with Lorde and Taylor Swift Continues
Diplo is a father, again. The DJ/producer, aka Thomas Wesley Pentz, welcomed his second son with ex-girlfriend Kathryn Lockhart into the world recently. Lazer Lee Louis Pentz weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces at the time of birth, "Us Weekly" reports. The pair's first child, Lockett, was born in 2010.As of late, Diplo has been romantically linked to Katy Perry, although those rumors have not been confirmed. They were seen publicly at Coachella in April, and over the summer Perry went to Jamaica with the EDM artist to work on new, reggae-infused music."The funniest moment was having Katy Perry in the studio singing 'woke up this morning feeling so blessed' and writing a whole song to the Rootsman Riddim while Jesse did the dub for 'Modern Day Judas,'" Walshy Fire, who was also in the studio with the pair, said. "Watching her catch that reggae vibe was the best part of recording."Diplo has been caught up in a social media scuffle lately with Taylor Swift and Lorde. A few days ago, the producer tweeted, "Someone should make a kickstarter to get taylor swift a booty." The campaign has not even raised $100 yet. -
9 Rock Albums Whose Producers Co-Wrote The Music: Fun., The Black Keys, And More
In genres such as pop and hip-hop, it's pretty much standard for a producer to have an active role in the album's songwriting, especially if they're working with a solo artist, but this is pretty uncommon when working with rock bands, who tend to write their own material. These nine albums, however, feature extensive songwriting contributions from their producers, even though they were made by rock bands. -

AC/DC Share 'Rock or Bust' Title Track, Stream the Band's Second Single Now [LISTEN]
AC/DC has shared its second single from the upcoming "Rock or Bust" album. The heavy title track has the Australians at their rock 'n' roll best, proving why they have been able to maintain an impressive career for more than four decades. Although guitarist Malcolm Young is not on the track and drummer Phil Rudd has a lot to deal with as of late, the group is living proof of the motto "Rock or Bust.""You hear the guitar sound / Playin' nice and loud," Brian Johnson sings with his iron lungs. "Rock you to your knees / Gonna make your destiny."The riffs are loud, the drums are earth-shattering and Angus Young's guitar work is still a marvel — head to the 1:58 mark for the traditional face-melter. AC/DC crams in so much heavy metal muscle into this three-minute rocker. Check it out below, via Blabbermouth. -
