• Lamar Odom's NBA Career is More Important Than His 'KUWTK' Role

An incredible and proven NBA star player is lying in a hospital bed, comatose and fighting to his life after passing out in a brothel from an apparent drug overdose, but the media is labeling him a reality TV star instead. Lamar Odom is much more than a Keeping Up with the Kardashians cast member, and he has the stats to prove it. Though he hasn't been in the league in quite some time, Odom has won championships, honors and praise throughout his career, and plenty of sports stars took to Twitter to remind the world that Lamar was an athlete and not just the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, though we know that relationship had more to it than what the cameras showed us.
  • NBA Martin Luther King Day: League Giving Fans 11 Hours of B-Ball Monday

The NBA has decided to celebrate Martin Luther King Day in a big way this year: The league's slate of 12 games will stretch approximately 11 hours and includes four nationally televised contests. Along with the competition, the league also dropped a new "MLK" television spot today, featuring the "I Have a Dream" speech noting several photos of prominent African-American basketball accomplishments. According to BMI Elite, the spot will run for five weeks.
  • NBA Star with $44M Contract Reportedly Doesn't Want to Play Anymore

The world of professional sports often revolves around the following phrase: "It's a business." The constant travel, practice grind and lack of longterm security can suck the fun out of anyone's career, so it is no wonder there are excellent pro athletes who no longer play "for the love of the game." The current pro sports climate is such that when Milwaukee Bucks star Larry Sanders — who is slated to make $44 million over the next four years — reportedly told his team that he is tired of playing basketball, those who criticized him were not appalled at his lack of drive but rather the bad business decision he would be making by backing out of his contract. A player who quits in the middle of a contract is rare, but not because he or she loves the game. It is because they are leaving loads of money on the table and forging ahead with a bankroll that statistically has a good chance of drying up within the decade. Gery Woefel of the "Racine Journal Times" broke the Sanders story Monday, Jan. 5: Sources tell me that Bucks center Larry Sanders recently told some Bucks officials that he doesn't want to play basketball anymore. — Gery Woelfel (@GeryWoelfel) January 5, 2015
  • Iggy Azalea Dunks Basketball for Nick 'Swaggy P' Young, Smashes Her Face [WATCH]

Nick "Swaggy P" Young and girlfriend Iggy Azalea recently purchased Selena Gomez's southern California home, and they are already putting it to good use. Azalea, best known for her pop/rap hit "Fancy," took to the outdoor sport court and managed to slam dunk a basketball while Young manned the smartphone. One problem, though: Azalea accidentally hit herself in the face with the ball after it went through the hoop. Los Angeles's power couple copped the new place — which includes front-facing bay windows and "nearly an acre of gated grounds" — for $3.45 million. According to the "Los Angeles Times," "The house previously changed hands in 2011 for $2.175 million. Gomez had expanded the house by about 2,000 square feet and extensively remodeled it. She moved to Calabasas. Craig Knizek of the Agency was the listing agent. Knizek and Kofi Nartey, also of the Agency, represented the buyers."
