  • Jay Z and Beyoncé top Billboard's Power 100 List

    Billboard has released its annual list of the 100 most powerful figures in music, and once again, actual performers don't play much of a role. However, in one of the few spots on the list performers were able to grab, they grabbed a pretty good post: Jay Z and Beyoncé were named the most powerful "individual" in music.

    Beyoncé has always been a champion for "woman-power" and expressing femininity, now the superstar has penned an essay for The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Pushes Back from the Brink, a 400-page comprehensive investigation into "the millions of women who are doing it all and barely scraping by, struggling to provide and parent in a nation that hasn't kept pace with the modern realities of their lives."
  • Taylor Swift tops North American concert market during 2013, Rolling Stones most efficient

    Billboard released its highest-earning tours list nearly a month ago, but the North American numbers might be more relevant to Music Times' American readers. Taylor Swift took the top spot in her home continent, followed by the worldwide no. 1, Jon Bon Jovi.
