  • Beyoncé's “XO” sampling of the NASA Challenger explosion audio causes controversy

    At the start of Beyoncé's new song "XO," you can hear six seconds of audio saying, "Flight controllers here looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction." This is NASA's former public affairs officer, Steve Nesbitt, at the time of the NASA Challenger Explosion. FOX News is reporting that a statement has been issued about this clip, by June Scobee Rodgers, the widow of Challenger Commander Dick Scobee, who is part of the Challenger Center for Space Science Education.
  • Most charitable celebrities of 2013 include Taylor Swift, One Direction, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Paul Walker, Justin Bieber and more

    DoSomething.org, a social change nonprofit site, has released is list of the most charitable celebrities of 2013. According to the list pop-country crossover star Taylor Swift topped the organization's annual "Top 20 Celebs Gone Good" for the second consecutive year.

    Looking at a performer's sales is one way to judge who's the biggest name in music. Another way is to check out who's been illegally downloaded the most.
