• Music Times Casts 'Doctor Who: The Musical' and Offends Whovians Everywhere

The "Symphonic Experience" sounds great, really, but being uncouth Americans like we are, we couldn't help but wonder if a more pop-oriented TV-opera is a possibility. We don't want to invite controversy by even suggesting an actor to portray the titular Doctor, but we're more than happy to suggest musicians to portray his worst enemies.
  • Damon Albarn: Blur's New Album May Never Come Out

Being one of the busiest people working in music, Damon Albarn was bound to drop the ball on at least one of his projects. Unfortunately, he seems to have dropped the ball on his most anticipated project of all. In a new interview with NME, Albarn admits that the new album he started recording with Blur last year may never actually be finished, taking most of the blame for it himself and his inability to write enough lyrics in time.

  • Beck, St. Vincent and Jack White: Music Times Names Its Midyear Favorites

Just in case you've never checked out the Junk Mail feature at Music Times, understand that staff disagreements on the quality of albums ranges from age-based immaturity to outright violence. If selecting the best records at the midyear point was this dramatic, we can only imagine what will happen at the end of 2014.
  • 5 Musicians With Two Equally Famous Bands

Plenty of musicians join more than one band throughout their careers, but most of them end up being associated with just one band. That's why Paul McCartney is always referred to as a member of the Beatles, and not a member of Wings. However, there are some artists who are lucky enough to have been members of two different bands that are equally as famous or influential. Here are five artists that are equally known for two different bands.

  • 7 Alt-Rock Songs About The Artist's Hometown

A huge part of a person's identity is based on the place where they come from, so it's inevitable that musicians are going to explore this idea in the songs they write. Here are seven alt-rock songs about the artist's hometown.
  • 8 Classic Alt-Rock Albums and Their Original Titles

Very few things in music are presented in their original, unedited forms. Songs, as well as albums, are often re-written and re-structured over and over again before they're finished, and this is often the case with artwork and titles as well. Here are eight classic alternative rock albums that weren't released under their original names.

  • Seven Albums Hated by the People Who Made Them

Just like an actor doesn't sit around watching his or her own movies all day (hopefully), a musician doesn't listen to their own albums very often, for various reasons. They could simply be tired of hearing the songs, or maybe they're self-conscious, but sometimes an artist genuinely dislikes their own work.
