  • Lady Gaga and The Muppets get help from Elton John and RuPaul

Thanksgiving was full of musical acts as usual, with the typical Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade medleys as well as the halftime shows during the NFL's three games. One special occasion for 2013 was Lady Gaga's television special, Lady Gaga & The Muppets' Holiday Spectacular. As was to be expected with anything that involved either The Muppets or Lady Gaga, shenanigans happened. Here's Music Times' favorite musical moments from the broadcast:
  • Madonna is Forbes' highest paid musician, beating none other than rival Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga fans have just one more reason to feel a little scorn toward the Mother Monster's arch nemesis Madonna. The MDNA singer has passed Gaga in a big way and topped the list of Forbes' 25 highest paid musicians by a long shot.
  • 'Rocketman' Elton John Film Casts Tom Hardy

This summer there was talk that an Elton John film would be happening. Deadline.com confirmed this to be true when FilmDistrict bought the rights to the musical biography, a script by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot). Now it's official that Rocket Pictures' Rocketman has a lead for the film: Tom Hardy, who has been in thrillers like The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was once one of Variety's "10 Actors to Watch" and we're still watching him. But is he musical? According to the TomHardysPinky account on YouTube, Hardy has been busy with a lot of rapping.

There's only one country artist featured on the forthcoming Elton John tribute album, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," and Sir Elton seems to think that performer did the best role filling his own shoes. Hunter Hayes, a 22 y.o. multi-instrumentalist, plays the title-track on the compilation.

Adele hasn't given any hints as to her next album, after "21" dominated sales throughout the last few years and won a boatload of awards. Word has gotten out however, that the songstress may soon be making her big-screen debut. The role? As a comic book villainous of course.
