• Jon Stewart Goes to Congress to Lobby for 9/11 First Responders Bill

Back in September, Jon Stewart visited Congress to implore the passage of a permanent law to help Americans with health care issues that had assisted in the immediate response to the September 11th attacks. The law that provided assistance for these citizens, including over 33,000 who are receiving care related to the attacks, was set to expire. Because a majority of House and Senate members signed on as sponsors of the bill, Stewart saw no reason to keep pushing, as he assumed the bill would pass in a small matter of time. However, this has not been the case, and the bill has stalled in the Congress with minute battles regarding appropriations holding up the process. Stewart, thus, went back to Congress to make sure the bill became law.

  • Jon Stewart Raps Eminem To Mock New GOP Presidential Candidates

Earlier this spring, noted political commentator and comedian Jon Stewart announced that he would be stepping down from his post as the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, which he has been hosting for the past 17 years. One of the main reasons is that he didn't want to go through the madness of another presidential campaign cycle, which with another 17 months to go, is in full swing for both parties. He is not shying away from attacking the new candidates, notably the vast field of new GOP hopefuls. This past week saw the announcement of three new candidates on the right - Ben Carson, former HP CEO Carly Fiorina and Fox News commentator and 2008 candidate, Mike Hukabee. Stewart discussed their hopes or lack thereof with the aid of Eminem, rapping the lyrics to his classic 2000 collab with Dr. Dre "Forgot About Dre" and "My Name Is."

Ad-Rock -- aka Adam Horovitz -- of the Beastie Boys stopped by 'The Daily Show' recently to catch up with Jon Stewart. • Fox News Disses Jay-Z; Jon Stewart, 'Daily Show' Defend Hova [WATCH]

Fox News committed a big foul when it dissed Jay-Z recently and brought up the rapper's past as a drug dealer. Sean Hannity took issue with Hova's inclusion in a meeting with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to discuss justice system issues in the wake of the Eric Garner decision. Jon Stewart and members of "The Daily Show," as usual, did not understand the reasoning and decided to fire some satirical shots at the news organization, "Consequence of Sound" notes. Hannity shortened Jay-Z's entire résumé to being "a guy who sold crack, was a drug dealer and actually shot somebody," citing an excerpt from the rapper's book. Hova left that lifestyle long ago, as pretty much everyone in America knows, but that was not enough for Fox News. "Daily Show" correspondent Jessica Williams explains it perfectly in the clip below. "Hova has done quite a few other things since his dealing days. You would think that'd impress people on Fox, because we all know how much they like to preach to black folks about responsibility, self-improvement and what's wrong with the black community," she says.
