• Amy Schumer Twerks on Stage With Madonna

In an effort to switch things up, Madonna decided to bring comedian Amy Schumer on her Rebel Heart tour as an opening act for her New York shows instead of an expected musical group or artist. During the singer's Madison Square Garden gig last night, the "Inside Amy Schumer" star twerked her way into dazzling the New York City audience.
  • Stromae Plays 'Papaoutai' in New York Times Square and on Subway [Watch]

Belgian electro pop artist Stromae is a massive artist in Europe and yet has struggled to garner an audience in America. Thanks to Pitchfork, a number of confused New Yorkers are more aware of the pop star after a number of impromptu performances of his hit song "Papaoutai" around the city including Times Square and the subway.

  • Lady Gaga Wants to Be the "Next Iron Maiden," Not Madonna

It's pretty obvious Lady Gaga likes to be "different." The 'Popart' singer has never been happy to be related to another pop star. In fact, she recently explained to CR Fashion Book that she's attempting to reach the top of her career with the inspiration of heavy metal--specifically--Iron Maiden.
  • Brazlian DJ Places Newspaper Ad To Get Madonna Remix Approved

One enterprising Brazilian DJ is going old-school in an attempt to try and get Madonna's attention to try and sign his remix on as an official rework of her Rebel Heart song "Devil Pray." 18-year-old (he makes sure to note that) Nick Deboni ran an ad in the Los Angeles Times Tuesday with the massive hashtag #ApproveMadonna to try and draw her attention toward his remix.
  • Billboard Hot 100 v. Official Charts Company: Mariah Carey, Madonna and 40 Years of No. 1s

Few people realize just how different the music across the pond is from that we listen to in America, that the Hot 100 doesn't exist in the UK, and that its equivalent to our singles chart doesn't just feature a whole bunch of American artists with even more One Direction and Ellie Goulding tracks. Music Times is looking back at the last four decades of music, and at the no. 1 hits on August 10 every ten years on the spot, going back to 1975. The ultimate contest, of course, is which country has better taste. Last month the win went to the UK in the best-of-five showdown. This month features Mariah Carey, One Direction, TLC and more in the field.
  • Ranking Bond Theme Songs: Adele, Madonna, Tina Turner and More Join James

Bookies in the UK have closed betting on the performer behind the theme song for the new James Bond film, Spectre, as an anonymous bettor placed a £15,000 wager that Radiohead will perform the track. There's no official word yet from the band or the studio...but it's safe to say that no one throws away that much money without a good hunch. Although director Sam Mendes says that a song has indeed been recorded and will be officially released soon, all we can do right now is wonder. In the meantime, take a look at the theme songs from the previous seven installments of the Bond series, which we've ranked from worst to first.
  • ASAP Ferg in Studio with Madonna, Pharrell: New Album on Its Way

A$AP Ferg is working on some new music and plenty of big names are excited about it. In a new interview with Revolt TV, the "Dope Walk" rapper revealed that he was working on the follow up to his 2013 artist album Trap Lord, which will "definitely" be released at some point this year. The new material he is cooking up in the studio is not only exciting fans and he, but also other artists including Pharrell, Madonna and even Missy Elliot.
  • 7 Musicians in Playboy: Madonna, Mariah Carey, Azealia Banks and More

Thirty years ago, pop fans-but mostly guys interested in the female form-received the most recent issue of Playboy, which featured superstar Madonna on the cover. Looking back, it doesn't seem all too surprising that perhaps the biggest female performer in history stripped down for the men's magazine...after all, she released a whole book of risqué content with Sex during 1992. But for the most part, Playboy has been an arena more enticing to film and television actresses, as well as other recognizable characters. Musicians have been more rare, but they drop in from time-to-time.
  • Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' Hacker Gets 14 Months for Violating Cloud Server

Madonna came after her leaker harder than most and now Adi Lederman, the hacker responsible for dropping a significant portion of her Rebel Heart album during late 2014 is now facing a 14-month prison sentence. It took less than a month to track him down, thanks to a joint operation by the FBI and the Israeli Police forces (that's the help you get when you've had eight no. 1 albums).
  • Mariah Carey, Madonna and TLC: The Longest Hot 100 Streaks of 1995

TLC celebrated the beginning of its longest streak on the Hot 100 on this date 20 years ago, as "Waterfalls" topped the singles charts for seven weeks afterward. Now, the Hot 100 is different than the Billboard 200 in that it's rare for any one album to top the chart for more than a few weeks, while songs can rack up huge runs on their chart. For example, only two albums have been at no. 1 for more than one week during 2015 (Taylor Swift's 1989 and Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly), while Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" has ruled the Hot 100 for 14 weeks thus far (the other 14 weeks have been split between Swift and Wiz Khalifa). Five songs managed to stay at no. 1 for seven weeks or more during 1995...so at least 35 of the year's 52 weeks were owned by just five songs. Check out the playlist of '95's most popular tracks.
  • Billboard's 50 Acts for 50 States: Taylor Swift, Eminem, More Rep Hometowns

Billboard came up with a fun project for the July 4th holiday, assigning a music performer that best represents each of the 50 states. According to the site, final decisions were largely based on sales results from its charts, but a performer's deception to their home state via its lyrics also made a difference. Check out what performer made it for your state and let us know if Billboard chose well.
  • The 7 Highest Music Incomes of The Last 5 Years; Dr. Dre, One Direction and More

Forbes released its annual Celebrity 100 list this week, a feature that ranks celebrities of all stripes—music, film, sports—by how socially active they are and how much they bring in. Although a number of factors add up to the final ranking, we all know that net worth is the most interesting aspect of the chart. This year's musical champ was Katy Perry, who brought in $135 million over the last 12 months, trailing only boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao overall. Music Times is looking back over the last five years and finding out what seven musicians had the biggest paydays during that span.
