• Melissa McCarthy: New Clothing Line Grew Out of Frustrations

    Funny woman Melissa McCarthy has always embraced her weight, despite Hollywood's glorification of all things skinny. Like many women, McCarthy loves shopping, especially with friends. However, she was often faced with the dilemma of a limited selection of clothing to fit her size or was forced to walk to an entirely different floor to find clothing designed for her figure. The 'Tammy' actress took it upon herself to give women of all sizes a chance to shop together with her new fashion line. McCarthy opened up to 'People' in their latest issue about why it was important to her to launch a clothing collection, as well as how shopping frustrations and getting dressed everyday played a factor.

    Melissa McCarthy is a woman of many talents. Not only has she had a string of box-office hits and scooped up a 2011 Emmy, all the while chasing after her two daughters, but now she is also ready to tackle the fashion world. McCarthy has reportedly inked a deal with Sunrise Brands to create a fashion line that includes accessories and beauty products for women. The as-yet unnamed brand will launch with sportswear in fall 2015. While this deal may appear to have come out of nowhere, McCarthy has told WWD that she always believed she would be earning a living as a fashion designer rather than as an actor. She is thrilled to be returning to her first love and anxious to contribute in as many ways as possible.
