  • Ozzy Osbourne Donates $10,000 to Louisville Leopard Percussionists

    Two and a half years ago, Louisville child musicians posted an all-percussion rendition of Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" to YouTube eventually accumulating over 800,000 unique views. The video finally made its way to The Black Sabbath frontman who was so impressed that he decided to send the Louisville Leopard Percussionists a $10,000 check in support of their music.

Ward now says that he will not join the group for a final tour or album until Osbourne apologizes to him.

    One of the bands that won't be appearing at Black Sabbath's so-called farewell show in Tokyo: Black Sabbath. A report from NME indicates that the band has cancelled the Japanese date, which will take place as part of vocalist Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest, and that the frontman would be performing by himself instead (along with a slew of opening acts).

    Ozzy Osbourne fans and early vacationers were disappointed to learn that the vocalist had cancelled his Ozzfiesta event at Riviera Maya in Mexico due to an unspecified surgery. Cool Breeze, promoters for the event, posted an announcement on the gig's site indicating that Osbourne would undergo the mystery treatment following his May 2 concert at the Monsters of Rock Festival in Buenos Aires and would require at least four weeks to recover, thus leading to the cancellation of the May 27 Ozzfiesta.

    It has been nearly 20 years since the last installment of the Penelope Spheeris trilogy The 'Decline of Western Civilization' hit theaters. Fans of the stunning documentaries will be able to buy all three in June as a box set when they are released, officially, for the first time on Blu-ray and DVD, 'Rolling Stone' reported. Bonus features for the classic docs will include high-res restoration, previously unseen interviews and commentary by Dave Grohl.

Last night's most Shazamed moments came during the halftime show (more on that later) but outside of that it looked like New York songwriter Marc Scibilia induced the most curiosity with his rendition of Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land" featured during a Jeep commercial.

    Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler is as feisty as ever. The musician was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 27, after getting into a drunken bar fight in California. Police charged the 65-year-old with misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism. Butler was taken to jail and released after he detoxed and was cited, "Rolling Stone" noted.
  • Tom Morello, Serj Tankian Pay Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne Guitarist Randy Rhoads with 'Crazy Train' Cover [LISTEN]

    Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello and System of a Down's Serj Tankian joined forces to pay tribute to deceased Ozzy Osbourne axeman Randy Rhoads. The pair decided to lay down "Crazy Train," the anthemic single from Osbourne's debut solo effort "Blizzard of Ozz." The cover will be included on the new compilation "Immortal Randy Rhoads: The Ultimate Tribute" and features Rudy Sarzo, another Rhoads bandmate, and Vinny Appice, "Rolling Stone" notes.
