Soundwave 2015 has announced at least the first part of its headliner-packed lineup, proving once again that the biggest pure rock festivals in the world don't happen on American soil. This year marks a change in direction for the Australian traveling festival, as the action will occur over two days instead of one for the first time. Faith No More, Slipknot and Soundgarden are among the headliners listed. -
Chris Cornell Stalker Arrested, Accused Of Harassing Soundgarden Singer
Last week, the FBI arrested a Florida woman on charges of stalking and harassing Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell. The suspect, 32-year old Jessica Leigh Robbins of Tampa, Florida, had allegedly threatened Cornell and his family with an alarmingly high number of posts and messages through various social media outlets. A federal judge in New York issued the warrant for Robbins' arrest, while a federal judge in Tampa set her bail at $50,000, which she paid on Friday. Robbins is currently awaiting trial in Tampa, where she lives with her mother. -
Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden Name New Openers
Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden found themselves without an opening act for their double-headline billing after Death Grips, the experimental hip-hop act originally slated to perform, randomly broke up a few weeks back. Trent Reznor, probably the organizing force behind this whole endeavor lamented believing that the group could keep it together for a whole tour, but has acted quickly to supply it with a series of new acts, each handling roughly a third of the dates. -

Soundgarden Releasing Deluxe Special Editions to Celebrate 20th Anniversary of 'Superunknown'

Matt Cameron Touring with Pearl Jam Versus Soundgarden for 2014
As diehard grunge fans, we had hoped that the world would never come to this: Matt Cameron deciding whether he would tour with Soundgarden or Pearl Jam. Cameron, possibly the most relevant name that you've never heard of in the early '90s Seattle grunge movement, is a very relevant part of both bands. And it makes sense, as he was the best drummer in the scene (it wasn't Dave Grohl, with no offense to the Nirvana drummer). -

What do you get when three of alternative rock's most renowned drummers come together to make an album? DRUMGASM. This percussion supergroup is made up of Pearl Jam's/Soundgarden's Matt Cameron, Sleater-Kinney's/Wild Flag's/Quasi's Janet Weiss, and Hella's/Death Grips' Zack Hill. -
Nirvana Original Contract Placed on Tumblr by Record Label Sub Pop
An awesome piece of memorabilia has been put on Tumblr by the folks at Seattle music label Sub Pop. The piece of paper seems to be the original contract signed by Nirvana when it joined the label in 1988 (the contract was signed in '88, the actual term began in 1989).
