  • Twenty One Pilots Wins Best Rock Video at 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

    Although it wasn't mentioned on the broadcast, it appears that Twenty One Pilots have taken home the Best Rock Video award at the 2016 MTV VMAs. The Columbus, Ohio alternative duo nabbed the award for their Suicide Squad soundtrack hit, "Heathens."

    They may say that rock is dead, but don't tell that to the Billboard charts. This week, rock 'n' roll comes for the top of the album charts with a vengeance, as new releases from The Lumineers and Deftones lead the way in terms of sales and activity.

    The Billboard charts are a tricky beast, but Kanye West's new album The Life of Pablo has dominated them. Nearly two months after the album's reveal and initial Tidal-exclusive release, the "Famous" rapper's new LP has topped the charts, besting new(er) releases from Lukas Graham, Weezer and the Big Sean/Jhene Aiko project Twenty88.
  • Rihanna, Fifth Harmony Put in Work and Dominate the American Charts

    There's a lot of business happening on the charts this week. For the seventh week in a row, Rihanna and Drake's lead Anti single "Work" leads the Hot 100, but there's even more work to be done, courtesy of Fifth Harmony. The girl group's new track "Work from Home" also rose into the top 10 this week, marking their first-ever top 10 single.
