    Foo Fighters performed their highly anticipated Mexico City gig last night. The show at Foro Sol marked the first time the band has played in Mexico. According to Setlist.fm, the band alternated between playing its greatest hits, songs off 2011's Wasting Light and covers of The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Tom Petty.

    Britney Spears may have just debuted the music video for her second "Britney Jean" single "Perfume" on Tuesday (Dec. 10), but her fans are already calling for a take two. The video's director Joseph Kahn has taken to Twitter and written that his director's cut is the superior version, and now people are petitioning online to see it.

    Following the release of his latest album, Black Panties, R. Kelly has announced a new album for 2014, an XXXmas record (if you will) called 12 Nights of Christmas (maybe this one will have a song called "Christmas Cookie!"). In an interview with Rap-Up, he has been working on the album for more than a year, and it should be ready for release during the 2014 holiday season.

    On Monday (Dec. 9), which was supposed to be the last installation of Justin Bieber's Music Mondays series, the teen idol announced that there was even more music on the way. Bieber revealed that a full-length album entitled Journals will be released on Monday, Dec. 16, and will feature all the 10 previously released tracks and five new ones, featuring artists such as Lil Wayne and Future. Today (Dec. 12), Bieber revealed the five song titles as well as what rapper will guest on which song.

    Last night, audience members at the sold out Haim at London's Forum got a special treat when Florence and the Machine singer (Florence Welch) showed up, which is already cool just because she was there, and especially because she was wearing a Haim T-shirt with true support, but she ended up crowdsurfing.

However, the remaining members are still trucking along. Yesterday (Dec. 10), Kaiser Chiefs released the first track from its upcoming album Education, Education, Education & War "Misery Company," and the track rocks harder than anything from the British band to date.
  • Beastie Boys counter-sue GoldieBlox for 'Girls' copyright infringement

    And the GoldieBlox vs. Beastie Boys saga continues. As previously reported, toy company GoldieBlox has been in a legal battle with The Beastie Boy's over the use of the song "Girls" in a parody advertisement. Now the Beastie Boys have officially counter-sued the feminist toy company for copyright infringement. A counter-claim filed yesterday in New York argues that the parody version of "Girls" doesn't fall under "fair use" as Goldieblox had claimed last month in a preemptive lawsuit.

    James Murphy has been busy since disbanding LCD Soundsystem in 2011. In his Rolling Stone interview, he dropped hints about his future plans, including an LCD Soundsystem live album and the building of a new studio in New York, where he'll work on new material.
