• 'American Idol' Season 15 Recap/Review: Top 10 Takes Shape with Wildcards, OK Performances

American Idol's top 10 is starting to take shape. On Wednesday night (Feb. 24), the show's producers and judges bucked tradition by throwing in four wildcard picks... before America could vote? This move is presumably to get the best singers actually into the race to guarantee an interesting and assorted live roster, but it feels like the thing that made American Idol a hit to begin with - allowing fans to pick the next superstar - a false promise.
  • Kobe Bryant Credits Michael Jackson as NBA Career Inspiration on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Living NBA legend Kobe Bryant is wrapping up his final season on the basketball court before his retirement, so it makes sense that he'd stop by big LA Lakers fan Jimmy Kimmel's Live! ABC late night talk show to share stories and more. Reflecting on his first season in the sport, Bryant explained to the audience that it wasn't another athlete that he looked to for inspiration, but the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. It turns out that Jackson's career in the music industry influenced how Bryant played and grew in his own career.

  • Music is Murder in New 'Kill Your Friends' Trailer Starring Nicholas Hoult [WATCH]

The music industry is murder - literally, well, according to the new dark comedy thriller Kill Your Friends from director Owen Harris and writer John Niven, who also wrote the novel of the same name. Mad Max: Fury Road star Nicholas Hoult stars as a young A&R rep for a record label in London during the 1990s, who goes into a murderous rampage in order to keep his job in the high-pressure industry of loud music, drugs and alcohol. While this movie already premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year, it has a 2016 US release date set for April 1. Watch a new trailer for the film below.
  • Joseph Fiennes Defends Michael Jackson Role, Should Probably Quit TV Movie, Right?

British actor Joseph Fiennes was recently cast in a comedic TV movie in the UK as music icon Michael Jackson. No, these two people do not share the same skin color, which is obviously making this project very scandalous. While Fiennes admits that he understands the backlash of a white actor portraying an African-American in a production, this week he came to his own defense, claiming that the TV special is satirical, so, you know, who cares? Clearly, a lot of people care, so we're basically counting down until the 45-year-old white actor quits this project.
  • Chris Stapleton Turns Cringeworthy Words Into Sweet Country Music on New "Album" on 'Kimmel'

There are some words in the English language that are just plain icky ("icky" being one of them). But, is there any way for "moist," "juicy," "ladyfriend" or "foodie" to sound good? If anyone can make it happen, it would be Best Country Solo Performance Grammy winner Chris Stapleton. And Wednesday night (Feb. 17), the "Traveller" singer tried his hardest to make some of these words listenable.
