RAYE is on a roll at the upcoming BRIT Awards 2024; not only did she set a record for being an artist with the most nominations in the award show, she was also crowned as this year's Songwriter of the Year.
According to reports, the "By Your Side" singer will be the very first female to receive the honor of Songwriter of the Year at the BRIT Awards since the award was introduced in 2022; other recipients of this award are Ed Sheeran and Kid Harpoon.
Aside from her numerous accomplishments at the upcoming BRIT Awards, RAYE will also be performing at the award show; this year's lineup of star-studded performers includes Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue, Tate McRae, Rema, Chase & Status, Jungle, Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding.
The 2024 BRIT Awards will take place at The O2 arena in London, England, on Mar. 2, and it will be hosted by Clara Amfo, Maya Jama, and Roman Kemp.
RAYE Reacts to BRIT Award
While RAYE has been in the music industry since 2014, this is the first time the singer-songwriter will be recognized for her talent and skill as an artist, songwriter, and producer.
"I am so so honoured and blown away, honestly to be given this prestigious award for Songwriter of the Year, it is my very first BRIT award and I will treasure this trophy very much," RAYE said about winning the award.
"I am so grateful to be recognized as a songwriter as this is a craft I am so passionate about and have been since I started my journey as a musician, and I'm very grateful to those who voted for me to have this award."
Aside from the singer-songwriter, several other hitmakers were also nominated at the Brits Awards 2024, including Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, PinkPantheress, The Rolling Stones, Olivia Dean, SZA, Calvin Harris, Central Cee, and more.

RAYE Launches Solo Music Career
RAYE has been making hits for many different high-profile artists, like Beyonce, Little Mix, Rihanna, Devid Guetta, Ellie Goulding, John Legend, and more.
But it was not until she released her debut studio album, "My 21st Century Blues," did she embarked on her solo career.
It was named one of the best albums in 2023 by Variety, and Metacritic gave it a score of 82; Financial Times, The Independent, and The Telegraph bestowed the album with five stars
