It marked his last post before his death on Sunday. His cause of death remains unknown.

"Rest in peace to my brother @colaboyy," Sills wrote. "Anyone who knew Matthew knows he had a larger than life personality. He was always the life of the party and could chop it up with anyone. He was also one of the most talented and down to earth people I've ever met."

The manager also spoke highly of his "humor and natural charisma" that made him closer to people.

Cola Boyy reportedly finished making his new album before his death, though the details have yet to be released.

The disco musician began his career with his EP, Black Boogie Enon, in 2018. The material contained his hit song, "Penny Girl," that made it to Fader Magazine's 100 Best Songs of that year.

In 2021, he released Prosthetic Boombox after collaborating with other musicians like The Avalanches, Nicolas Godin and MGMT.

As an activist, Cola Boyy worked closely with the groups Anarchist People Of Color and Todo Poder Al Pueblo as he advocated disability and people of color's rights.
