Fans were surprised to see Peso Pluma make a grand gesture for Anitta at the 2024 Tecate Pa'l Norte Festival in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. He surprised the singer, who celebrated her 31st birthday on Saturday (March 30).

As the Anitta celebrated her 31st birthday at the Tecate Pa'l Norte Festival in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, on Saturday (March 30), she was greeted by a mariachi singing "Las Mañanitas" -- a happy birthday song.
Peso Pluma, clad in a black mask, uncovered himself on stage while holding a big-booty-shaped birthday cake for the Brazilian superstar. Anitta was in utter disbelief as the crowd roared.

"Let's hear it loud for Anitta. Today is the birthday of the queen of Brazil, the queen of Brazilian funk, and she is in Mexico for the first time with us," Peso Pluma screamed. "Look at that cake,"
As tension built, the two shared a kiss after fans chanted "beso" multiple times, signaling them to kiss.
The two Latin superstars have been linked romantically in the past, with many saying that Anitta is fawning over the Mexican rapper.
However, some weren't amused by the grand gesture, given that Kendrick Lamar canceled his scheduled performance at the festival.
"Because nothing says 'true love' like a public display of affection in front of thousands of screaming fans. And let's not forget that Peso Pluma was a last-minute replacement for Kendrick Lamar, who canceled his performance due to 'logistical issues.' So basically, Anitta and Peso Pluma's 'romantic moment' was just a desperate attempt to salvage a festival that was already in shambles," one pointed out on X, formerly Twitter.
Another wrote, "Kendrick Lamar canceled his second show in Mexico. There were around 100K people waiting for him."

Kendrick Lamar Cancels Tecate Pa'l Norte Festival Performance
Hours before he was scheduled to perform at the Tecate Pa'l Norte Festival in Mexico, Kendrick Lamar pulled the plug on his performance.
"For unforeseen circumstances due to logistical issues out of Tecate Pa'l Norte's organization -- we're sorry to announce that Kendrick Lamar won't be able to perform tonight at the festival," Kendrick Lamar's spokesperson told Billboard.
"We appreciate Peso Pluma for extending his showtime. Deorro will be closing Tecate Light Stage. The festival's programmed shows will run as planned," the statement continued.
