Ice Spice's star is rising beyond the world of music. The rapper has been tapped to appear alongside star Denzel Washington in Spike Lee's High and Low, according to Variety.

The film, an English-language adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's movie of the same name, will mark the acting debut of the rapper, who has risen to prominence thanks to collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.

Following the release of her breakthrough hit, "Munch (Feelin' U)," the artist went on to garner four Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Song. Ice Spice has teased that first full-length album, Y2K, is expected later this year.

High and Low marks the fifth time Lee has tapped Washington for one of his films, but it's their first collaboration since the Inside Man in 2006. The film will be released theatrically by A24 before streaming on AppleTV+.

Apple Original Films posted a photo of Lee and Washington on X, along with the caption, "No. 5 now in production," but Ice Spice isn't included in the pic. However, she shared Variety's post on the project featuring a large photo of the rapper.
