Travis Kelce said he cannot understand why he and Taylor Swift are dating now, when the latter never liked sports to begin with. He does not understand why she's suddenly a super NFL fan, so to speak.
It could be though this was because Taylor Swift is a fast-learner, especially on topics her boyfriend and friends care about.
Patrick Mahomes proves this.
Taylor Swift Learning Football
After Taylor Swift began dating Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes' teammate on the Kansas City Chiefs, last year, the singer's connection with Mahomes has grown, and he has talked about it.
After TIME listed the Super Bowl winner as one of the most influential people of 2024, Mahomes said Swift is one the celebrities he interacted with that was truly "down-to-earth."
He is amazed at her work ethic and her quick learning ways, even picking up NFL knowledge lightning-fast.
"She's never not working. Even when she's taking her downtime, she's working on something. Shooting a music video or singing a song or writing a song," he shared.

He then added, "You can see it by how she talks. Even when she's talking about football, when she's learning it, you can see her business mind putting it together. It's almost like she's trying to become a coach. 'Why can't you try this, this, and this?' She's asking the right questions."
Mahomes further acknowledged that the Chiefs "went from a nationwide team that was kind of global to a full global worldwide team - that came from Taylor's fanbase" as a result of Swift's support.
Taylor Swift Loves Football Now
Even though Travis Kelce said Swift never liked sports, it is truly fortunate that she loves learning.
Back in 2023, during the first months of her and Travis Kelce dating, Swift expressed how much she had loved watching football since meeting Kelce in an interview with TIME last year.
"Football is awesome, it turns out," she said. "I've been missing out my whole life."
Swift attended thirteen Chiefs games in the previous season and returned quickly from four performances on the Eras Tour in Tokyo to witness Kelce and Mahomes win the Super Bowl in February in Las Vegas.
Since going public with Kelce back in September, she has also become close friends with Patrick's wife, Brittany Mahomes.
