Prince William has finally made up his mind about hiring a new press secretary for the Kensington Palace office that represents not only him, but also Kate Middleton and Prince Harry. Jason Knauf has taken on the larger than life job and will officially be joining the royals at the start of next year. He is an American that currently has managed to guide the Royal Bank of Scotland Group through a sea of scandals, including a billion dollar bailout by the government.

We told you recently that the young royals have been without a PR handler for two months now, in part because Prince William had been extremely picky about who was qualified. Rather than go with a media handler that has worked for the royal family for years on end, William wanted to bring in someone completely new. He and his father, Prince Charles, have been pitted against each other when it comes to the future of England. While it's Charles' birthright to be the next king, sources have said that there's a chance that Queen Elizabeth will instead turn over power to William because he is far more respected by the British people.

Earlier this year Charles made a failed attempt at grabbing control of his son's press office in the hopes of squashing all of the positive press that both William and Middleton get. William has feared that if he appointed someone to represent himself that was already working with the royals in another capacity, they could easily sabotage his image as a favor to Charles.

Knauf is said to be a great fit for the job and we'll see pretty quickly just how well he can handle the royals since Middleton is set to deliver her second heir several weeks after he takes over. Do you think that William was smart to look for someone outside of the family business to put his best interests, and those of his wife and brother first?
