Today, BBC Radio One DJ Zane Lowe announced his hottest record of the year, as voted by the fans. After all the votes were tallied, Coldplay's "Magic" came out on top of a list that featured some big records from Mark Ronson, Foo Fighters, Bastille, Oliver Heldens, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Jack Ü and many more. To celebrate, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joined the show to say thanks to his fans and once they started talking about Ghost Stories, the "Sky Full Of Stars" singer revealed that the band is in the studio and working on their seventh album, titled A Head Full Of Dreams.

Chris Martin admitted that he felt nervous sharing the news with Lowe because he hadn't been given the go ahead to discuss the new album, but he felt it was the right moment to start discussing A Head Full Of Dreams.

Martin explained how far they are along in the process of the album and their motivation going into it (via Consequence Of Sound).

"We right in the middle of [recording] ... It's our seventh thing and the way we look at it it's like the last Harry Potter book. That's not to say there won't be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something. It was great to go from Ghost Stories right back into the studio. Now, we're making things that sound different. It's a very fun time to be in our band."

Martin also revealed that the band will get back on tour once they are done with the album, something they did not do for Ghost Stories.

Coldplay is just 7 months removed from their sixth album, Ghost Stories, and they are already back in the studio to make another LP. Coldplay fans should get excited for some new music a lot sooner than previously anticipated.
