We haven't forgotten Carly Rae Jepsen but it's certainly been a while since we saw her name in a headline. The vocalist behind the biggest breakthrough hit of 2012, "Call Me Maybe," has posted a few Instagram shots that indicate she'll be releasing a follow-up to her second (albeit first album to register with mainstream listeners) album, Kiss, later during 2015. Featured in the photos are Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff, Blood Orange mastermind Dev Hynes, and Haim-producer Ariel Rechtshaid (from MTV).

She posted a trio of photos on her Instagram account Monday morning featuring herself, Hynes and Rechtshaid sitting behind the soundboard and otherwise having shenanigans at a studio. The caption suggested that Jepsen had just recorded "one of my fav songs today." Does that mean a cover track or one of the better-written songs she's seen so far? More interesting to us is to what extent Hynes will play into the process: Is he just writing, or will he contribute instrumentally to the track as well? Both are good things.

Word of Antonoff's involvement has been on the web since October, when he also turned up in a studio photo on Jepsen's Instagram account. His presence has to be considered a good thing as well, as your correspondent would label Bleachers' Strange Desire the best pop album of 2014 and his help with "Out Of The Woods" made it the best track on Taylor Swift's recent 1989. Jepsen had a definite smash with "Call Me Maybe" but the rest of the album failed to live up to that single's promise. It looks like the team she's got working with her now should be able to turn out a more consistent and quality project.

The last we'd heard from Jepsen was when she took her role in the Broadway version of Cinderella.
