Beck was somewhat the victim despite winning the Album of The Year award at the 2015 Grammys last night, due to the social media backlash he faced from...everybody who thought Beyoncé was going to won and should have won (probably the same folks behind the #WhoIsBeck trend). Perhaps things go much deeper than just a basic disagreement between Recording Academy voters and the listening public however: Perhaps his victory is all part of a music industry conspiracy to DESTROY ROCK 'N' ROLL.

Or at least that's what Trapt thinks, according to Billboard.

The band posted a message on its Facebook page Sunday night following the Grammys criticizing the selection of Morning Phase, Beck's album, as both Best Rock Album and Album of The Year, as well as criticizing Paramore's "Ain't It Fun" for winning Best Rock Recording. The word "conspiracy" was used prominently.

"The fact that Paramore won an award for Best Rock Song and Beck won for Best Rock Album shows you that there is a conspiracy going around to destroy the essence of what rock music is all about," it reads. "The establishment doesn't want anything too threatening or in your face to rile you up, they just want you to nod mindlessly to adult pop punk;) or indie electronica or whatever the hell won a Grammy for best rock song and album."

The band kind of sets itself up for criticism when it can't identify what beck actually sounds like (hint: Morning Phase ain't electronica, even if it's not turn-of-the-century nu-metal). Perhaps the band is suggesting that's why it hasn't gotten a Grammy nomination recently...or ever. If you're still grasping at where you've heard the name "Trapt" before, it was during 2003 when its song "Headstrong" was getting airplay.

If the group really wanted to complain, they should have pointed out that the Best Metal Award went to Tenacious D. Singing a cover song with a flute solo.
