As previously reported, Iggy Azalea postponed her Great Escape Tour with Nick Jonas and Tinashe. After the news was revealed, both Jonas and Tinashe left the tour. The rescheduled tour will now kick off in September in San Diego, California. However, rumors have begun circulating that the cause of the delay is lack of promotion. Azalea addressed the situation in a new interview with 97.1 AMP Radio, saying that her team needed more time to make the production perfect.

"It is bumped back because I am a psychopath. It is my first arena tour, so it's a big undertaking and I'm doing a lot of the creative direction, which I do for everything," she said. "It's tough when it's your first time working on an arena situation."

She noted that the stage she has dreamed up for the tour could take up to six months to build and wouldn't be completed in time for her original April 14 start date.

"My tour would have been April; we have not started building -- that is not 6 months, that is very tight," she explained. "So to get this stage done in time, I would be making a lot of sacrifices and cuts and changes and compromises would have had to be made to get this thing done in time.

"And so I really considered what I do I want to do -- keep and honor these dates for my fans, but have not the show that I envisioned and kind of promised them a lesser version of it... Or do I want to move it and have the absolute best show, the show I envisioned," she added. "And obviously I've chosen to move it and have the show I envisioned."

It is still unclear who will join her on tour now that Jonas and Tinashe confirmed they won't be taking part in the rescheduled fall jaunt. However, the "Trouble" rapper's main concern right now appears to be ensuring an enjoyable show for her fans.

"I don't want to have an average tour with a normal stage and this kind of thing," Azalea explained. "I want people to come and really feel they got their money's worth... and they want to come back and tell their friends about it. So that's the risk that I took and I hope people can still come and we're honoring everyone's tickets."

Elsewhere in the interview she spoke about handing her social media accounts over to her management as well as her new single with Jennifer Hudson, "Trouble."
