Madonna recently posted a photo on Instagram that shows her 13-year-old son Rocco holding a bottle of gin, and it didn't gain a lot of positive responses.
Rocco Ritchie, the star's child with former husband Guy Richie, features him with two other friends proudly holding bottles of liquor. The photo was posted with the caption "The party has just begun! Bring it! 2014."
Now clearly, her son is under age, so it makes sense that people would be skeptical about the image, but considering he wasn't shown actually consuming a beverage, it appears people overreacted, at least according to Madonna. She responded with:
"No one was drinking we were just having fun! Calm down and get a sense of humor! Don't start the year off with judgement!"
According to NME, Madonna spent her holiday holiday at a ski resort in Gstaat, Switzerland, where she is staying with friends plus her four children Lourdes, David, Mercy and Rocco. She split from Guy Richie in 2008 and Rocco was the only child they had together.
When she's not vacationing at a ski resort or responding to social media backlash, Madonna has other things to worry about, like managing her swelling bank account. She was listed as the highest-earning musicians in 2013 by Forbes, taking in a whopping $125 million. Beyond just the musicians, she was also named the highest earning celebrity of the year.
She has mentioned that she'd like work with Daft Punk in the future and is planning her next album in 2014 to follow up 2012's record MDNA.
