The news of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's divorce seemed to have had everyone talking last week. People were shocked to find out that after ten years of marriage, Jen and Ben are now calling it quits. But luckily for their kids, they are taking a very classy approach to this divorce.

The couple has three children together (Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3) and they are taking precautionary measures to make sure that the children are protected throughout this whole fiasco. Ben, Jen and the children were spotted taking a vacation in the Bahamas last week amidst all the media frenzy surrounding their divorce.

The couple wanted to wait until the whole family could be together to inform the youngsters of their parents' pending split. Although the couple has reportedly been separated for several months now, they waited until June 30, when the children were out of school for the summer to announce their big decision. A source told People, "They plan on co-parenting and doing absolutely everything in the best interest of the kids."

What better than a nice family vacation to the break the news to the children? An insider confirmed, "They were together as a family that day. The family felt it was important to be together and they were together. The family is united and, no matter what, will protect the kids. This isn't easy for anyone and it's devastating to Ben too. He loves his family and will always put them first."

The couple is definitely making the children their top priority and is going about this divorce in the most civil way possible for the sake of the kiddies. In their divorce statement, they stated, "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This is our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

Perhaps this family getaway is just what the family needed to help them get through this situation. Take a look at this throwback video of Jen and Ben before they were engaged over a decade ago.
