If you're a celebrity in a high-profile relationship, the relationship soon becomes a trio instead of a couple. The media can easily find access to the lives of celebrities, making itself the third, usually unwanted, partner in the relationship. Vicious rumors and allegations come with the territory of living in the public eye and as it becomes more and more standard in Hollywood, celebrities continue to learn ways to deflect the negative energy from interfering in their personal business. New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz recently opened up to E! News about dealing with breakup rumors and explaining how he relates to Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen.

Brady, the quarterback for the New England Patriots, has been learning to never let a bad situation keep him down. After being accused of tampering with the footballs during last year's AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, he was later suspended from playing in four games. Things made a turn for the better when the judge dismissed his punishment and the case.

During the infamous deflategate scandal, rumors began swirling about trouble in paradise between Brady and his Victoria's Secret model wife, Bündchen. The 38-year-old NFL star athlete recently shot down those divorce rumors, exclaiming the two of them couldn't be happier. Cruz admitted to E! News about knowing what it's like to have relationship rumors surround him and his fiancé, Elaina Watley.

"I can completely relate to them. Obviously everyone goes through their ups and downs and goes through their fights," said Cruz to E! News in an exclusive interview. "[The rumors] happen and it's something you have to be thick-skinned about and something you have to understand to keep your family tight knit."

When your family and children are involved, accusations are taken a little more personally. Nothing will get in the way of a parent protecting their child from harm, no matter the conditions. The 28-year-old New Jersey native believes remaining honest with your children, instilling strong structural values and sustaining close bonds are a great way to create a barrier between your family and outside negativity. Cruz believes Brady and his wife did just that, which is why they're reportedly still going strong.

"[The kids] are going to be hearing things from left and right. But as long as at home you tell them what the truth is and how you handle that within your household is essential to having a family that is tight and won't let anything get in the way of what they built and won't let anything get in the way of the morals and things Tom and Gisele has instilled in their children and instilled in themselves cause things are going to happen."

The style-savvy athlete, who's currently the face of Hugo Boss including the brand's classic fragrance, Boss Bottled, admitted the rumors really affected him. After getting injured last year, Cruz was facing both emotional and physical pain. During this time, his relationship with Watley was really tested, but they managed to fight through everything together. He believes knowing your partner, knowing your family and having faith in your relationship will help you get through any obstacle.

"It went through ups and downs and battles and you fight back because you know that love is there and you fight through it and make it out the other end," he explained. "It's about how you run your household and making sure it stays tight."

Despite battling through a number of rumors, Cruz and Watley are living in bliss. The two are currently planning for their summer wedding next July. As time until the big day dwindles down, the couple are sorting out last minute details from their nuptial checklist. Cruz has narrowed down his designer suit choices to Tom Ford, Public School or Neil Barrett. While is bride-to-be is looking forward to being wooed by a singer on her big night, she is still torn as to who to pick -- John Legend, Musiq Soulchild or Miguel.
