Following on the heels of his guest starring role on the season 2 premiere of Fox's hit series Empire, Miss Lawrence, who made frequent guest appearances on Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), is telling all as to why viewers no longer see him on the Bravo show. Lawrence believes that most of the women on the show used his personality as the token gay guy and they need to understand how to respect his culture.

Knowing what's appropriate to say and what's not appropriate is priority on the list when it comes to respecting Miss Lawrence. Of course, considering that few ladies on RHOA ever care about what is appropriate to say about anything, he had an uphill battle from the start.  In an interview with BET, he explained how some of the ladies of RHOA had a lack of respect and understanding for the gay community. "I don't think they're homophobic," the fashion queen host explained. "What I'm saying is, they need to be held accountable for the cultural appropriation and they need to understand how to respect our culture - what's appropriate to say and what's not."

The Atlanta hairdresser recalled a scene from the show where Kenya Moore invited her friend Brandon, who's also a gay man, to a party given by Nene Leakes in a hotel. By the end of the night, Brandon was involved in a physical altercation with husband to Phaedra Parks, Apollo Nida. The incident left Lawrence feeling like more could've been done or said in that situation in Brandon's defense, but ultimately nothing was ever done.

"The one episode where Kenya [Moore]'s friend got beat up at Nene's party, no one was held accountable, there was no real apology put in place," he explained. "I knew then that was not a place to occupy my time."

Miss Lawrence, real name Lawrence Washington, has since been occupying his time alongside Derek J and Bevy Smith as the host of Fashion Queens. Huffington Post reported "celebrity hairstylists and honorary "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast members Derek J and Miss Lawrence along with ...Bevy Smith have teamed up with Bravo to bring their hilarious and entertaining real-talk personalities to a new show called Fashion Queens. The show aired back in 2013 and allows Miss Lawrence to be himself which, in his own words, is "flamboyant and non-gender conforming."

His flamboyant personality is why he considers himself to be the "token gay guy" on RHOA. "I have genuine friendships with some of the girls, but I do know that most of it came out of convenience," he explained to BET. "Most of it came out of being the token gay. The go-to person, 'Oh, I need a new word to say, I need some gay slang! How do I say, "Yaasss"? All of that type of stuff.'"

Lawrence believes that when you know better you do better, and he has definitely taken his career to the next level without continuing to be featured on RHOA. Despite his departure from the show, Lawrence does wish all the ladies well in their careers.
