During an episode of The View on Thursday (Oct. 8), Raven-Symoné stuck her foot in her mouth [again] after revealing her controversial opinions on "ghetto names." Despite the outpouring of backlash the actress has generated since making the comments, not everyone turned their back on her. Raven's father, Christopher B. Pearman, penned an open letter to his daughter admitting he doesn't support her opinions (even stating "she says dumb s**t"), but he is still her biggest fan.

During an open discussion between The View co-hosts addressing a new study from the Journal of Evolution and Human Behavior, it was revealed that people attributed men with "black sounding" names to being bigger and violent. While the recent study shocked some, it was Raven's response that really took people by surprise.

In a nonchalant joking fashion, Raven stated she definitely wouldn't consider hiring a person with a "ghetto name" if she was an employer. Many found themselves upset and confused as to how the former child star could categorize someone's entire character based off of their name, especially because she's an African-American woman.

In a Facebook post directed towards his daughter and anyone upset by the comments she made on racial discrimination, Pearman explained that Raven is an adult with her own opinions and making her own mistakes.

"There has been much talk today about my daughters comments on her show The View," Pearman said in his Facebook post. "People have been hitting me up all night questioning me about her remarks. Let me say this......I haven't managed Ravens career in over 10 years. This woman is grown, has her own management team, has her own opinions, right or wrong, and is responsible for her own words and actions."

Raven's controversial opinions have also interfered with her father's business endeavors. According to his public post, a potential customer for his book told him she could not support his book because of his daughter's beliefs towards screening "black sounding" names for employment. Pearman's book focuses on teaching your children to "believe and achieve," which he believes his daughter is great example of.

Growing up in the public eye and maturing as an individual woman has opened his daughter up to outside influences and experiences that have helped structure her thoughts in beliefs to what they are today, according to Pearman's post.

"Children grow up and become influenced by many things, situations and people. I certainly don't agree with what she said....but she is damn near thirty years old. She's a grown ass woman making grown ass mistakes. We all have been guilty of this."

Despite the mistakes she's made in the past and backlash that followed, the 29-year-old's parents assure that their love and support for her isn't going anywhere.

"Raven is a really Beautiful, Sweethearted, Human Being.I should know. Her Mother and I Love her Very much and will always support her and have her back. Even if sometimes..........she says some dumb S#%T!"
