Shahs of Sunset's Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi is embarking on a serious journey towards a healthy life. On Monday (Oct. 19) via her personal Instagram account, the Bravo reality star revealed she would be starting chemotherapy treatment for her rheumatoid arthritis.

Living with the disorder has not been an easy ride for the 33-year-old. In her heartfelt admission, Gharachedaghi stated how scared she was to come to terms with the fact that she needed to undergo chemotherapy.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder that attacks the joints in your body, most commonly your hands and feet, according to mayoclinic.com. The disorder is currently incurable, but there are treatments that help with the pain and symptoms.

"Today is the day I begin the process of chemotherapy," Gharachedaghi wrote on Instagram. "Never have I ever been so scared yet so excited at the same time. I'm scared because, well, the f***ing obvious, it's chemo! But I'm excited because for 5 years I've put this off because of my fear of the word 'chemotherapy' and I've now reached a place of acceptance."

Gharachedaghi was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2012. In May 2014, she was admitted into the hospital for displaying symptoms stemming from the disorder. It is three times more common in women than in men, usually beginning between the ages of 30 and 60.

Her Bravo co-star, Jessica Parido, is also battling a life threatening disease. Parido has been suffering from leukemia since she was a 14-year-old teen. The 26-years-old is currently in remission and working as a registered nurse.

"My RA is working in overcharge and my health has not been getting better, but today I will take charge and hope for a better tomorrow. Hopefully I will inspire others to not be afraid as well. Thank you all for always being so supportive of me on this journey. Wish me luck!"
