As Lamar Odom's health begins to make slow strides towards a productive recovery, friends and family can't help but vent their appreciation for the strength he's exonerated and the support he's been given. His estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, has remained by his side every step of the way. On Tuesday (Oct. 20), the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star shared a heartfelt statement about her husband for the first time, since he's been hospitalized.

Despite her family and several of Odom's friends posting their prayers and condolences for the former NBA star, Kardashian kept quiet about her feelings. Today, the 31-year-old reality star opened up about the emotional roller coaster she's been riding since learning Odom fell into a coma on Tuesday (Oct. 13). She also expressed her gratitude for the nurses and doctors at Sunrise Hospital for taking such good care of her "Lammy."

"This past week has been incredibly difficult," Kardashian wrote on her website on Tuesday. "I am so thankful to family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made."

Odom woke up from a four-day coma on Friday (Oct. 16), after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel with several drugs in his system, including cocaine, opiates, and herbal Viagra substitutes. While being hospitalized, the 35-year-old also suffered multiple strokes and minor brain damage. He responded for the first time since being admitted, allegedly after Kardashian told him, "I love you."

Last week, news broke surrounding the official status of Kardashian and Odom's pending divorce. It was revealed the two are still officially married, because the final piece of paperwork needed to seal the agreement was not signed by the judge. As his wife, all of Odom's medical decisions were left in Kardashian's hands, adding pressure to the variety of emotions she was already feeling.

"You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!"

Odom and Kardashian were airlifted to Los Angeles, where the 2011 NBA Sixth Man was admitted into the intensive care unit of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to receive further treatment.
