Azealia Banks was reportedly arrested in New York Wednesday night (Dec. 16) for assault after allegedly punching a female bouncer outside nightclub Up&Down and proceeding to bite her in the boob.

According to The New York Post, Banks has been charged with a misdemeanor of third-degree assault following the incident and was held until late Wednesday night for "evaluation."

A witness of the incident who spoke to the outlet claims that Banks was "screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing" and using the "I'm on Rihanna's album" card after being thrown out of an invite-only party that required a stamp to get in. It was then that she spit in the female bouncer's face and biting her on the breast, "almost breaking her shirt" and "caus[ing] swelling and redness."

When Banks was being pulled away from the scene, she supposedly screamed "I'm gonna call the cops!" before punching the security guard and then confusingly asking why she was being arrested.

Banks (probably for the best) has yet to comment on the allegations, which are not her first within the past year. Back in October, the rapper had an alleged fight with a nightclub security guard in LA at club Break Room 86 and is still under investigation by the LAPD for the incident. The club's security claims that they had asked the fiery rapper to leave that evening due to her “unruly behaviour” and maintain that she attempted to set off the club's fire alarm.

Banks is aware of her confrontational side, previously admitting such to NME. “It’s not even a head thing,” she said, describing the red mist that comes with moments of confrontation, “it’s a physical thing. I start to get red hot.”

The rapper released her latest album Broke With Expensive Taste in November of last year.
