Up until this point, Jack White has seemed to handle marital splits pretty well. After all, The White Stripes produced its best music long after he and drummer Meg White had divorced. Things are not going so well between him and his last wife, singer-songwriter Karen Elson. White's ex-wife wasawarded a restraining order against the guitarist on Monday, it has been revealed.

The order prevents White from having any contact with Elson whatsoever, unless it relates to time spent with the couple's two children, which she has primary care of. Elson claims in the order that White has a temper, refused to attend family counseling, amid other allegations. She says she "fears for her and the children's safety as a result of this harassment."

Although it's nothing to sniff at, fortunately all of the harassment listed has been strictly verbal. Elson said that White repeatedly called, texted and e-mailed her to "harass and embarrass" her in an attempt to pressure the terms of their divorce settlement. The restraining order states that "This pattern of husband's bullying wife into submission was a contributing factor in the demise of their marriage."

White's behavior gets really bizarre when dealing with what Elson says he called "rival musicians." In on instance, he demanded that his children be removed from a certain private school because their children shared class with a musician whom White believed had "ripped off" his music. In another instance, he allegedly harassed Elson because she had attended the wedding of another such musician.

On the sunnier side of White's life, the musician made a $200,000 donation to the National Recording Preservation Foundation earlier this week.
